Today is the last day of little kitten’s fulltime job.

So now she can devote more time to hanging out in Fitzroy and less to the Docklands!

😀

Buhbye Docklands…

Tiesto snapshots

Saturday night.  Tiesto.  Very awesome.

I think we were all a little disappointed he didn’t play more old stuff… that seems to be the general consensus… But then whenever an artist releases a new album and immediately tours, you expect to hear mostly new stuff.
Unless they happen to be Massive Attack in which case they play all their Most Awesome stuff thus cementing themselves in Kitten’s brain as Most Awesome Live Show EVER (Daft Punk may possibly tie… possibly…)

But still – totally awesome.  And – like everyone else in the stadium – I LOST MY SHIT to Silence!

Can you ever NOT lose your shit to that track?!?!??

Rhetorical question!

♥ you Tiesto!!

Mars Volta @ Festival Hall, 25/01/10

•January 26, 2010 • 3 Comments

Saw The Mars Volta at Festival Hall tonight.  Amazing, as expected.  Short show – two hours (was supposedly to finish at 11pm and finished at 10:30pm; no encore) – but still amazing.

Omar and Cedric are god.  Together.  I definitely want to have both their babies at the same time (this is actually possible – to father twins to two different men – but I digress).  I am definitely going to marry Omar.   And if anything ever happens to him, I will remarry, to Cedric.  Omar would want that.

I wish I could be the tambourine/maracas/bongo drums player just so I could be that close to Omar.  The beautiful Omar with his intense look of concentration and his cute vest and his hands playing that guitar the way I imagine they will play my body one day…

I nearly died of ecstasy (the non-narcotic kind) during the L’Via intro.  Viscera Eyes was outstanding of course.  They finished with Roulette Dares.  No Televators – though the pub I had a pint at before the show (Carron Tavern) did put Televators on.  It was two-thirds full of people who were obviously going to see the Volta.

When Omar and I are eventually married, we will join surnames.  I will have a triple hyphenated name.

So cool it hurts.

Seriously though,  if anyone sees me walking down the same street as Omar and Cedric, please restrain me.  I don’t need a sexual assault record.

Fitzroy dream house!

•January 12, 2010 • 1 Comment

This is my dream house.  The red brick one with the silver room over the street.  It’s in Little Gore St, Fitzroy, just around the corner from my work (equally good as living across the road from the Rose).  It’s a very large warehouse conversion with a top floor consisting of the main bedroom with ensuite and a massive terrace with amazing views of the city.  I have pics saved from the real estate advertisement when it was for sale about a year ago… they are at home, sleeping on my harddrive in the shade of my bed.  I’ll put them up when I can get around to it, but in the meantime, these are just a couple of pics to show you where my graffiti kitteh avatar thingum comes from (look in the URL spacebar, it’s the little square on the left.)  It’s on the grey corner wall in between the roller door and the red brick.

If anyone knows who did the stencil please let me know.

We have been contemplating where would be good to live once our lease ends late April as we’re pretty sure the body corporate hates us enough to stop our lease being renewed.

There is a swell-looking house for rent directly across the road from the Rose Hotel.  Moving into a house directly across the road from the Rose is one of those things that I, in my state of utter excitement, would jump straight into without considering the consequences of.

So let’s weigh up the pros and cons:

Pros:

  • Amazing $11 fish’n’chips within 10m
  • Coopers on tap within 10m
  • Barry machine within 10m

Cons:

  • Amazing $11 fish’n’chips within 10m
  • Coopers on tap within 10m
  • Barry machine within 10m

Basically, I will be fat and broke.

Barry always wins, except for that time Paulie won $100 on cluedo.

THIS IS A HARD ONE.

Hot hot hump day

•December 16, 2009 • 3 Comments

I am a little addicted to checking the Melbourne weather report.  It is supposed to be a 39 degree day today.  Of course it is, on a Wednesday, when I have to work two jobs, from 9am to midnight – this involves walking from the Docklands to Fitzroy between 5 & 6pm.  No, it won’t be cooler if I catch a tram; it’ll probably be hotter and with added BO.  And I am too poor to get either a $3.70 tram ticket or a $170 fine for not having one (yes, even though I have two jobs… yes, I’m a loser…)  Also, totally forgot I planned to spend my lunch break sunbaking on the boardwalk in the Docklands and neglected to wear skimpy clothes to work; boooo.

In other news, this is going to end badly, I can tell.
