Blackchords @ Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Oct 29th 2010
My mate Damian’s band Blackchords had the honour of supporting Powderfinger (and also Jet) on their final Melbourne show – EVER – held at Sidney Myer Music Bowl a couple of Fridays ago. I managed to score a last minute ticket on the Tuesday (thanks, Arts Centre!) – I even got a seat in the stalls, which proved to be a convenient point from which to film.
I’m not going to write a review on Powderfinger – they were awesome, which I’m sure you could have all predicted, they played for a bit right in front of the lawn for all the lowly lawn-dwellers, and Bernard ever managed to spot an old ex-girlfriend who dumped him in Year 12 in the audience (he gave her a hug at the end of the show).
I am, however, going to post my one video of Blackchord’s performance, the lovely song ‘Broken Bones’. ‘At World’s End’ is probably my favourite, but I got told off by security for filming before they had played that, and I decided not to risk having my camera confiscated..! The security lady was nice enough to let me keep filming the rest of the song.
Handheld = a little shaky…

PS. I just came back from an eye examination and one of the rows of letters on the computer screen was “K O D”. Heehee.
PPS. This is my 50th post. Whee! \o/ A year old in 4 days time; that averages out at about one post per week… not too shabby…
